  2. Where are you. Your email with this site is no longer good. I can see that you still check in but we really want to hear about your project. Is it done? Guy that bought your original Escaper was trying to find you. Did he?

  3. Besides the head-gasket recall, what are some of the other problems with the Toyota 3.0 engine.  I have a 1993 Toyota Motorhome. Thanks.

Just the head gasket and the valves. Adjusting the valves is difficult and can be very expensive but if not adjusted they can cause more problems. Next time message, the envelope icon, My profile is open to all not private

  4. Hello Linda and thanx for moderating this forum !   Hello everyone else!  I have learned SOOOO much here.  I'm on my 2nd Sunrader, 21' RBK.

Replaced leafs springs and am ordering shocks- I drive in the snow and ice, in the woods some, with lots of gear.  May convert to 4x4 in the future...

I've looked and searched several times but am still unclear - I'm sure I missed parts numbers from others' posts.

It looks like the original lengths would still have play.  Bilstein vs. Monomax?

Sorry to bother you!  WME likes Bilsteins, Diesel_Aggie said Bilstein HD B46-1139-H1 for front 86' 4x4...  too long for my 4spd?

    you mentioned Monomax for TurboBernard...

You need to post on the main forum page. Others know far more bout driveline issues than me. Just click on start topic in general or engine section

First this is my profile not my message center. Click on envelope next time. For shock model numbers for our RV's go here.

      #1 Shocks and Struts Superstore - Shockwarehouse.com

With the correct numbers then you can shop around for the best price. The Monomax was only available for the front of 1986 and older trucks so not in the ball park.

Please don't even think about the Monroes. Junk

I had KYB but then put Bilstein's on. Wish I hadn't wasted the extra dough. Big price difference

  8. Hi Linda,

Did I see a sticky thread outlining recommended roof sealant and RV caulking that's best for these older toyhomes?

I found out the original caulk and roof sealant that Winnebago used 30 years ago work better than anything money can buy today?

Any idea? if not, can we start one?

Post your information and if more people add to it and I think it's a "go to" post I will pin it so it stays visible. All threads and subjects can be found in a search but sometimes there are just too many of them

  9. Linda-we have been watching the fires on the news don't you live in Northern California, and aren't there fires there?  Maybe time to take the Sunrader for a trip, stay safe-

To just talk you need to click on messages, the envelope top right,  not my profile. This is public and permanent so not the place. When I say I live on the coast it means there will be no fires here. Coastal fog keeps everything slightly damp even in dry times

Way too much for a 4 cylinder that already has a house on it. Axles with the wheels you will need run usually around a grand. Yes 1000 dollars

  12. The link you put up for the 1983 Toyota Dolphin owners manual doesn't work anymore. It keeps telling me server not found. is there another link to a owner's manual and appliance manual for the 1983 Toyota Dolphin?

  13. Hello Linda. Don't know if you remember me, but I have a 1986 Gulfstream Conquest.  I had taken the camper in to get a domed supports in the roof, reinsulate the ceiling and have a new tin sheet replace the old sheet. Unfortunately the restorer I used left the roof off in a huge rain storm and as a result, half the camper was damaged on the inside. As a result, the camper has a new floor, walls/insulation, wiring, and ceiling. As you suggested ive taken pictures EVERY step of the way. After 2.5 years the guy has refused to complete the rebuild. It still needs the tin cover for the roof, the a/c reinstalled,  and the assorted vents and ladder. No interior lights have been installed but all the wiring is complete. In addition, the dinette and the jack knife sofa have not been reinstalled. My patience ended in November and I brought my Toyota home. I did so under its own power. In January I'm taking him to small claims court. I have every picture and text for two years. My attorney says that its not a question of winning, just whether I'll get enough to cover the $3600 for finishing the roof. Shame is that the guy's work is really good, he just wouldn't finish it.

I just am not going to give up on this unit.

I've checked on it every two weeks or so and verified that no moisture has been getting in. I also took lots of pics with every visit. I'm looking forward to completing the interior and getting to use it.  My first purchase will be new tires as the current set is now over 7 years old. I also look forward to learning from your posts.

    Doug

Wish you the best of luck. Small claims court is a good way to go. Just in case the guy argues that your camper isn't worth as much as your asking for ,print out some ads for Toyota campers. Maker shouldn't matter. That way you can show how much a good condition one sells for today. Take care

  14. Hi Linda. I'm wanting to replace my front and rear suspension rubber, '85 Sunrader on '85 chassis, one-ton rear axle. Can you help me out with exactly what parts I need? I've read through past posts but can't get it straight. Would like to go with rubber. Thanks!

    1. linda s

      linda s

Not unless you know what to ask for. They don't have a list of all rubber parts for a vehicle. They have to look up each individual bushing for the specific part it's used for. So you need to know all the suspension and steering parts that take a rubber bushing. Yes once you find that out you could go to Toyota and ask for all those parts but it will cost you. Nothing like paying $12 dollars at Toyota for a bushing Beck Arnley makes for $3. Trust me, ask the group. They will steer you in the right direction.

      linda s

That is one tall order. Lots of bushings for many different parts and rubber is getting harder to find. Best bet is to make a list of everything you want and run through Rock Auto. They still have some rubber bushings. I couldn't even still find any rubber leaf spring bushings. Why rubber. Ya know if you post on the group there are lots of guys here who could make that list for you. I know you would want all the steering and suspension bushing including leaf spring but I think I'm leaving something out too. If there is something specific you can't find then ask me. I'm pretty good at tracking down hard to find parts

  19. Hey Linda S,

I've just bought my 1990 Winnebago Warrior and have posted two questions in the forums so far and found everyone so helpful.

I will be doing some more posting and question-asking but before I do so I'm wondering if you think it is more beneficial to the community if I do it all in one thread about my camper or do them topic-by-topic so that things are broken down a little more for future users?

    Thanks,

    Nick

topic by topic seems to get more interest so more answers to your questions. One thread can get very long and make it hard to search for information later. So sorry about the accident.

  21. hi , I just picked up a Toyota rv , and I 'm trying to find other owners in my area [ B.C. Canada] any ideas?  thanks j

    1. linda s

      linda s

OK so this isn't the correct place to ask me questions. Look for the envelope on the main page at the top right. That's the message system. And to go to the rally post you need to put your pointer on the

"vancouver  toy in" and click on it. That will  take you to that thread where you can then post and ask for information.

Do it in the next couple of days because I will be deleting this section. Single status should not even be on this website cause it's a hook up kind of thing. Came with the software and were stuck with it

Or you can just scroll down to the rally section on the main page and find it there

Well for starters you can post in the general section and ask if anyone near you wants to meet up. Tell us what you bought. There have been a few rally's on Vancouver Island. Maybe check with some of the people who posted there. Man beautiful place you live.

  23. Hey Linda, it's tom who you met in los gatos looking at my Toyota 500 series a few years back who got advice on the "gear you go up the mountain you same you go down!" Remember me? Anyway we are finally selling the beloved Toyota in May and tried to get in listed in the Classified section but had no luck. I registered as I thought it may be a separate page needing a login but that did not help.

How do i get my RV listed for sale?

    Thanks,.Tom

I do know you have to register there separately from the main site so if you did that I don't know why it didn't work. I have no moderation abilities there. Can't post it for you. Greg upgraded some stuff recently, maybe it messed with the system there. Read this page and contact him if you've already done all of this
