  1. you definitely need to preload the tension of the springs in the housing but I can't find a good description. here are some you tube videos but mostly just shows installing the complete housing. left and right are not exchangeable. https://www.google.com/#q=replace+springs+in+dometic+freezer+door Here's the best description of loading the springs I could find but it's not much. There are springs (and housings) are on each side of the freezer door. You may need to replace both the left and right side, and they (the plastic housings) are not interchangeable. You'll need to pre-load the springs and housings before installing the freezer door. This is done by rotating the tabs on the new (or old housing if you are only replacing the springs) housing past (below) the little bumps that are molded into the Dometic refrigerator door. After you reinstall the door, rotate the tabs on the housing up. You'll see where a little tab on the spring housing will fit into a slot on the sidewalls of the refrigerator. It should take you about 10 or 15 minutes to figure it out and 2 minutes to install it. Good Luck. Linda S
  2. There are tons of them listed on http://www.car-part.com/ I didn't know whether you have power steering or not or exactly where you are but easy to search yourself. Looks like it will take a steering column from 1984 to 1988 so lots to choose from Linda S
  3. Well he wants more than they cost new but the company who made them is not going to make them anymore so if you want some these might be your only option http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/5410658044.html Linda S
  4. Yes The moderator to member situation is a problem. I am the only moderator here who still accepts messages. Waiter is gone and Derek is not accepting messages either. Greg you have my email. Please let me know what you would like to do about this. Linda S
  5. Here's another transmission in Phoenix. Looks like it might be the right one Linda S http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/pts/5416337099.html
  6. Here's a manual for some of the older models. Scroll down to see the wiring diagrams and see if you can find one that matches yours. Some are auto ignition but some are pilot. The HF 77 looked close https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://direct.bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/hydroflameold2.pdf Linda S
  7. Thread about window latch for Chinook http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5736&hl=%2Bchinook+%2Bwindow+%2Blatch For the screen just cut some screen material and put some velcro on it Linda S
  8. As long as you don't have the reversed duallies in the front you can use just about any wheel cover you want to make it look nice. Mine came with spinners on it. Got a lot of attention from that I'll tell ya. You can also paint the rims to make them look better. I used some black graphite paint after I took the spinners off. Looked great for a while. Black with a gold sparkle in it. Almost as cool as the spinners but more subdued. Have fun with it. Linda S
  9. There was a time long, long ago, like the 70's, when you could go to the factory and ask for exactly what you wanted. I've seen one of a kind custom orders on Sunraders lot of times. I think your Chinook must have been a custom order. Window on passenger side, ice cream truck? Linda S
  10. Well it has to be a W50 not 150 cause there isn't a 150 and he does say it was pulled from a truck. I can't find any differences from others I see online that came from trucks. I tried to post another picture of one but the link was bad. Looked exactly the same as the one in Flagstaff. Linda S
  11. Yeah if it works with propane there's nothing wrong with it. What are we talking about here Linda S And that picture of the Sunrader in your profile is not an 88. 1986 is the newest it could be
  12. here's one in Flagstaff. Closest I could find. Says something is bent but I don't know if it effects the workings http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/pts/5395311644.html Linda S
  13. Profile says he or she has an 88 Sunrader which so the furnace doesn't need to be lit manually. Linda S
  14. And is the valve for that tank open? Try lighting the stove. That will tell you if propane is flowing or not Linda S
  15. I don't see the need of a full float axle in a Bandit. Have you weighed it yet. With the current axle you could easily upgrade to 15 inch wheels and tires, get a little more clearance and save tons of money. Linda S
  16. I find in general that whatever you spend there will still be things to fix. I only know one couple who refurbish Toyota RV's that make sure everything is perfect and they sell on eBay for way more then 12 grand. You need to become a motorhome expert. learn about water damage and how to check for it. Always find a mechanic near the motorhome to check out the engine. Learn how to check all appliances for condition. A new fridge can cost close to 800 bucks. V6 Toys need to have had a valve adjustment at 60,000 miles or your going to have to have one done, possibly hundreds of dollars. There is so much more. All you have to do is come here and ask. Post listing for what your looking at and sometimes we can see problems just from pictures and at least come up with some questions for you to ask the owner. Kind of like buying a new house and finding out after the foundation is bad. You need to dig deep and no matter how deep you will always find something else later Linda S
  17. The one in Wichita was messed up enough that they had to repaint the whole thing. originally came with stripes and stuff so you have no idea how nice it really is. The one in Tucson is an Odyssey Americana and they are wonderful rigs. This one has obviously taken some hits. probably could be made to look better but it just keeps coming up on craigslist again and again. Don't know if it's a real sale or not or if people just keep reselling it. I'd be very careful with this one Linda S
  18. You can search but I guarantee you will never find a sealant recommendation from a company that makes the gaskets. Probably why they call them self sealing gaskets. Seal is obtained by compression when you install the bead lock. Dean never installed new gasket did he. I've heard from others who got new windows that he just reused the old stuff. My girlfriend Gail tried to buy new gasket from him cause she was having her new window shipped and he told her she had to find it herself. I don't understand his thinking on quite a lot. Linda S
  19. Well that's what I said I did and I didn't buy over priced expensive top side paint either. Found a couple of boat sites where people were saying they had just as good results with Rustoleum brand marine top side paint and it's less than half the price off the West Marine stuff. Linda S
  20. Propane tank Black tank 2 different things. Black tank is under your bathroom for poopy and harder to remove than the propane tank Linda S
  21. Where would you put this water heater. It is rated for outdoor use only Linda S
  22. It is a Mirage. First year of the fiberglass model was 1981 but it could very well have been built on a 1980 chassis. Windows are in different places, This might have been one of the first built before they made a final decision on window placement and layout. Could have tweaked the mold a little too. Linda S
  23. The wallpaper is supposed to be water proof. it's old though and might not block the water as much as it should. My Tiger Provan had wall paper. I peeled it all off and painted the shower area with marine top side paint. You need to have a fan going cause you don't want to breath too much of it but it sealed the surface beautifully. I have heard lots of people don't bother to take off the wallpaper first but with this paint it bubbled up so I didn't really have a choice. Linda S
