  1. As long as your federal emissions sticker is still intact it doesn't need California emissions. It is grandfathered in because of the age Linda S
  2. Yup compressor based units. Here's the description from Walmart. You can make ice cubes for parties or hot summer days within a few minutes with the Igloo Ice 102 Portable Ice Maker. Its compact and contemporary design makes it easy to transport and stylish to display. With 2.0 lbs capacity of ice cube basket, this Igloo ice maker saves space in your freezer for other food. It features a 3.1L capacity water reservoir that can make up to 26lbs of ice in 24 hours. You need not drain the melted ice as it drains back to the reservoir. This countertop ice machine features the compressor cooling system and operates at low noise. The modern design and adjustable cube size add to the unique functionality of this Countertop Ice Machine Linda S
  3. I too enjoy seeing these Sunraders from across the ocean. Have to wonder how many were made. It's a beautiful rig. Thank you for sharing it with us. Fred in the world of fully self contained overland vehicles 60 grand is pocket change. A similarly equipped Earth Roamer or Tiger would cost 150 grand and up. My friend Dave's Sunrader was in an accident and the insurance appraiser appraised his at something like 45 grand. Linda S
  4. The law here has no mention of wattage, only speed. I see lots of 1000 watt bikes that still have a top speed of 20mph. Totally legal here and if yours does go faster how are they gonna know if they don't catch you on radar or something. Even the faster ones come in at 30mph. No way to differentiate between 28 mph or 30 to the human eye and even radar could be easily contested. 28 is legal just need to wear a helmet and be over 16 http://www.bicycleretailer.com/north-america/2015/10/08/california-governor-signs-law-modernizing-e-bike-regulations#.VxewrDbmpjo Linda S
  5. E-bikes are not banned or restricted in any way in California that I know of. I have one friend who uses one as his only transportation. No license plate or personal license required. This includes one with no pedals as long as 20mph is the top speed. Ones with a top speed of 28mph require a helmet and minimum age of 16 Linda S
  6. Hmm stuff I didn't know about them. Definitely changes my opinion. Surprised about the weight too. I would have thought they were lighter. Linda S
  7. Been one of my favorites for a long time. Ford 4x4 frame converted to front wheel drive to make the floor lower. I've always wondered if you did a body lift if it could be converted back to a 4x4. How cool would that be Linda
  8. I sent a message to Greg. Maybe it's something he can fix Linda
  9. I replied to her privately after no one else stepped in. The best place to find parts for older RV appliances is PPL RV parts in Texas. They have an astounding selection of parts for stuff that hasn't been made in years. Linda S http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv_parts_rv_accessories.htm
  10. Nice clean look with those diffusers but I like the saw too Linda S
  11. My ceiling fan is attached to the light over my dinette. The hole up there only had 110 wiring for an AC unit. You have to take the light fixture off to connect it but yes it will work. The light was reattached and that still works too. Linda S
  12. Wow that looks beautiful. I want some of those Linda S
  13. Very popular out in the woods especially where the sun doesn't shine much. As for Dometic not being the same company, large multinational companies go through lots of ownership changes with the core still being essentially the same. They also own Waeco, Attwood and a ton of other RV and marine product companies. Focus has not changed. Linda S
  14. no one answered your fridge question. this is the only place I know of that carries lots of parts for old appliances. enter the online parts catalog and drop down to fridge and then model number

  15. Wood not so good in person. Super cheap looking. Mine is not the pop top but wood is the same Linda
  16. I sure do love a Studebaker. Should be picking up an Avanti soon. Not really a Studebaker though. Avanti ll. Got the look but a Chevy engine Linda
  17. Yeah I could have been off on the engine size but just a guess from the pics that does look like the one I didn't jump on fast enough. It was 800 bucks. Dumb me Linda
  18. I missed out on a chance to buy a Woodsman a few years ago and I have been kicking myself for it ever since. They came with a 318 engine. Linda S
  19. No such thing as store mode, Bob's right, someone messed with your wiring and it's going to take some work to figure out what they did. Multimeter, Toyota wiring diagram and long hours is the only fix Linda S
  20. I wouldn't worry about the timing belt on the 4 cylinder engine but get the valves adjusted for best performance. Why weren't your tires balanced when they were installed. Does it shake when you drive it? Linda S
  21. If your putting the coach on a different frame what does it matter what truck it's on now. The 18 ft Sunrader coach is the same on the Nissan as the Toyota. I'm on the Los Gatos-San Jose boarder right now but only for a few more weeks. Bought a house in Eureka and almost done moving. Friend of mine who also owns a Sunrader up in Eureka met another guy who is completely remodeling an 84 Sunrader and converting it to 4x4. Haven't gotten a chance to see it yet but I will. Gutted the interior and is having all new rebuilt there too. Linda S
  22. I have been wondering why you seem to keep missing them. I live very close in San Jose and there have been a few for sale on craigslist in the past few months. Have you looked at the sale section here. Very nice one posted in southern Cal. Is it that the ones near us were not quite as nice as you would like. I pretty much stick with craigslist but if you don't see any really close expand the search. I flew to New York to pick up my Nissan Sunrader. You can also try Adhuntr http://www.adhuntr.com/ Try typing Sunrader different ways. Sunraider is common. Check eBay often and be prepared to pay for what you get. My girlfriend just sold her 87 shorty for 12 grand and she could have gotten more. Here's an 85 in southern Cal https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5520604153.html Nissan chassis Ventura http://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/5521944855.html Oh and when I started looking for a Sunrader it took me 2 years to find the one I wanted. It's not like you have your choice of thousands and the people who buy them usually keep them Linda S
  23. No other changes to the frame. Of course extra cab or short bed would require more alterations. Linda
  24. The most amazing Sunrader 4x4 I have ever seen has a GM 4.3 in it. Toyota original chassis. I have a 4.3 in my Tiger Provan. Gets as good mileage as my 22re Sunrader but fly's down the road. Best to do what inspires you Linda S
  25. The shorty Sunraders only have the frame extensions behind the rear wheel. Mine is 112 inch wheel base same as the long bed trucks. Just needs a little extra butt support Linda S
