  1. Cute, looks to be in good condition. We have seen quite a few of these over the years. They were made from 1984 to 1987 but build time at the motorhome facility made many motorhomes have a truck model one year older than the original sale date of the motorhome. Explains why yours is an 83. Some states go by sale original date but California goes by truck manufacture date. There is no way to know how many were manufactured. NADA doesn't even have the pop top listed, only the larger full sized model made by Ranger called a Rogue, so I'm guessing it was no more than a few hundred. Linda S Well it looks like the pop top was only made from 1984 to 1985. ''Ranger / Grand Sport'' (tilt-top) by Ranger Industries, San Bernardino, CA (’84 - ’85) Considering we have seen quite a few of them I'll stick to my at least several hundred built estimate.
  2. Helps to pay attention to the date things were posted. These are from 5 years ago and Dan hasn't visited us since then. As for the model of your Winnebago, if it looks like this it's a "Toye". Printed right on the side of it. The Toye's were a lower priced model with supposedly cheaper upholstery and finishes. I really don't think they looked that much different than the other models. Welcome to the group Linda S
  3. dawn. Soak rubber seals overnight in soapy water and install without rinsing. They'll slide in like butter. Linda S
  4. No. Not made until 1994 and not used in trucks. Our 3.0 is a VZ engine, this is for an MZ engine Linda S 1MZFE Timing Belt Kit Valve Cover Gasket GMB Water Pump - auto parts - by owner - vehicle automotive sale - craigslist
  5. We have a member here who had over 200,000 miles on his V6. Guess it all depends on how it's cared for. Linda S
  6. Better to post your updates in your own thread. Spungo's thread is long and information you might add can be hard to find if you have to go through hundreds of posts. We are always looking for new teachers here. With pictures when you can. Linda S
  7. Drain the trannie before you start the work. Replacing the fluid needs to be occasionally anyway Linda S
  8. You are doing a beautiful job. I'm hoping you are still posting when you get to the Chevy 350. I'm intrigued. I know one member with a turbo charged 4.3. Same engine with 2 cylinders deleted kind of. Makes for a better fit. Linda S
  9. I'd complain about the tires. I see no examples of them online without the letters. That's false advertising. People shop for tires because of the way they look, not just the specs. Linda S
  10. I think the most important thing is to buy local, simply because so many of these seem to have flaws. You need to return it easily. NAPA carries an alternator from Denso and that is pretty much OEM. Alternator - Remanufactured DEN 2100112 | Buy Online - NAPA Auto Parts (napaonline.com) Truth is when I changed mine, I bought a very expensive one from an auto parts store who mainly serviced professionals. It didn't work. Replaced it with one from Autozone that is still working fine more than 15 years later. Ya just never know. Linda S
  11. Sounds like you got a bad alternator. Another member had to go through 3 before he found one that worked properly. Take it back Linda S
  12. Replacing the timing chain is not cheap. Lots needs to come off the engine to get to it. Linda S
  13. The 22re is an interference engine BUT if the head has never been worked on,resurfaced, there is a chance the chain can break and not do major damage. You said it was noisy. Might have been the plastic chain guides were worn. No way of knowing the damage without taking it apart Linda S
  14. Ask a valid question and someone may answer you. Asking if someone has certain parts years after posting is useless. Exactly what is it you need Linda S
  15. Firestone doesn't make airbags for our units anymore. Airlift motorhome airbags are still available and are rated just as high as the old Firestone ones were. Up to 5000lbs of lift. Linda S
  16. Seabreeze is the same as Dolphin and most of them have T9 airbags. The bags they used were made by Firestone and max inflation is about 100psi. I run mine at 50 to 60 usually. I would consider 40 the minimum for a motorhome and 80 max. Somewhere in between you'll find what works right for you. No measuring required. Just look to see if your motorhome looks level front to back and side to side. Some rigs with all the appliances, tanks and stuff on one side list slightly and the air bags can take care of that. Never let the Air bags completely deflate. Weight of the motorhome can rip the rubber. I also use mine to level at camping spots. Let air out where I need it so my fridge is level. Can't adjust enough at extremely uneven ground but enough at most developed campsites. Linda S Oh and Doug. Our rigs are always overloaded
  17. Absolutely not. Lots of tires available online. Shipping is usually free and prices are way better than you could find locally. Just Google 185r14 tires, no middle aspect ratio, and dozens will come up. Just nothing with an ST or trailer on the description. Here's one popular company. None of these are trailer tires 185R14 Tires | Shop at Priority Tire Linda S
  18. 1 ton T100 will give you very close to the same track as the outside wheels on a dually. Dually is 61 inches WMS to WMS. The T100 is 66.75. So you get an extra 2.8 inches on each side. Should be very close to the extra width from the outside dually wheel. The payload on these trucks was 2500lbs. More than a lot of newer V8 trucks. Linda S
  19. No your chassis is narrower than the later models. You need new shock mounts welded on, larger U-bolts and a bunch of stuff I can't think of right now. Linda S
  20. National RV who made Dolphin was the only company who made any effort to help customers with the axle upgrade. For that reason you will find more Dolphins with the true dually. Of course some never got upgraded. You know what a full float dually looks like. Just always ask for pictures of the rear axle hub with no wheel covers on it. Linda S
  21. Don't be discouraged by negative comments. It's a 3/4 ton ,slightly overweight vehicle that just needs service same as any other vehicle. Do take one thing at a time though and shocks are the right thing to start with. Linda S
  22. Here are all axle related parts for your truck. All factory OEM. https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/parts-list/1983-toyota-pickup/power_train_chassis/rear_axle_shaft_hub.html?filter=(d=USA;1=22R;5=MTM;6=4F;7=HVY;9=IV) Linda S
  23. Yeah that is weird. I even looked on the companies website instead of just Rock Auto. Year must be the difference but our seats aren't that much different. Linda S Yup year is the difference. Rock auto prices are 100 bucks less that the company website. Good deal.
  24. Those are beautiful but all the bucket seat with separate headrest say headrest covers not available. Linda S
  25. You did put seals in when you put back together, right? Especially the axle shaft seal. That one is a must. Linda S
