  1. Thx Linda. Yes on flat front windows, and the ceiling is upholstered. It just stops now at the top of the windows. Some type of soft good going in there I think.
  2. Hey All - what was the original material used in the Sunrader cabover area? When I got mine it was already stripped down to the fiberglass, from the transition behind the seats all the way up to just above the windows. I am planning to put down carpet tiles on the main flat bed area, but am not sure what I want to do on the area up around the windows. I just redid the marker lights and re-seaIed all 4 windows. I cut some laminate pieces to put up, but am not liking the way they are fitting/looking so pausing to rethink things. Anyone know what got put up there originally? Also interested in what other people have done. --Travis
  3. Used butt splice connectors, polarity is correct (3/5 lit up initially), and yes have 12V at the beginning of the run.
  4. Anyone had any experience with these lights? https://www.amazon.com/partsam-Clearance-Reflector-Rectangular-Rectangle/dp/B00VGIAX66?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_15&th=1 I installed them to replace the corroded, broken, manky front marker lights and am having issues. I replaced the old wiring between the lights, kept everything wired in parallel like it was before with the incandescents. Hooked them all up and turned on the lights, only the first 3 lit up. So I checked the connections on the last two, then went back and tried them again. Now nothing comes on. I am getting 12V at the start of the wire run to the 5 lights, but not sure what happened from there. You don't need current limiting resistors or anything like that do you? I figured that these are capable of dealing with the variability in current with the parallel wiring, but am I wrong on that front? Any thoughts appreciated.
  5. Yep, you got it. Both suggestions make sense. Thx.
  6. Hi All - started putting windows back in yesterday, and am noticing that its hard to get them centered vertically. I installed the passenger side window on the cabover, and once it was all tightened up, there was excess butyl tape coming out of the bottom, but there was ~1/8" of gap at the top. And by gap I mean from the edge of the metal frame down to where the tape is. Its because the window settled down into the fiberglass hole, and is not centered vertically. Hope that makes sense. So the question is, are there ways to get it centered, and have it stay there once tightened? I still need to get the two fronts and the driver side window back in, and don't want to have to redo it if there is a better way. Thx.
  7. thx @linda s, makes sense. i'll build it back into a sealed box when i redo the seat area.
  8. @Rooster87 and @linda s, thx, that is what i was thinking.
  9. Hijacking this thread a little.... My Sunrader does not have the wrap around windows, and I don't see this locking gasket on them. Is that correct, or has it potentially been removed? Thx,
  10. Bought an 87 Sunrader a few weeks ago and started pulling windows today to reseal. Found some rot under the middle window near the kitchen. Pulled off the soft panelling and followed it down under the chair near the power converter. There is a small (4"x8" ) soft spot in the floor that I am going to fix, and will need to pull the metal storage box out to get to it. But what I am noticing is that someone cut the top off the storage box, so its now basically a huge vent under the seat. My question is do I really need this box at all? I am going to have to rebuild this seat and box area after making the floor repair...but is internal and external access important? Do you all find a use for this storage area, or any ideas on what it was meant for originally? Looking for ideas on a sensible way to rebuild it. --Travis
  11. Hi there- just bought an 87 Sunrader last weekend, and one of the things that needs work is the furnace. When I set the thermostat the fan comes on, but I don't hear a clunk from the gas valve, and after 20-30 secs the fan cuts off. Attached photo shows what it looks like, but I couldn't find a manufacturer, just the little plaque in the second photo. edit** - in the photo, the valve position is what i assume is OFF. i moved it to that orientation after trying to get it to light** My question is basically is it worth trouble shooting this thing and trying to find replacement parts for whatever happens to be the issue? Gas valve, circuit board, thermocouple, etc....or is there a newer unit that would work and just install that? Thanks, Travis
